#ElluresInspiration : Contentment

“Let your conduct be without covetousness, be content with such things you have” Hebrews 13:5

Content– pleased and satisfied: not needing more

Covetousness– feeling or showing a very strong desire for something that you do not have and especially for something that belongs to someone else

Being content can be difficult when we focus not on our accomplishments, but rather the success of others and what we do not have. Through all my blessings I lacked patience and humility. I often was not content causing me to feel empty because I did not possess the pentacle of what my heart desired. The effects of not being content allowed me to welcome worry and stress into my life. To worry is a sign that the enemy is near. Like a prowling lion to a mating gazelle, the enemy waits when we are at our weakest to attack.

Didn’t get the job you interviewed and were over qualified for or that promotion you were next in line to receive? Bills are due, taxes are up, and pay checks are less. BE CONTENT! The struggle is all a part of the Most Highs plan. “Be anxious for nothing” (Philippians 4:6-7)

Do not covet for what you see other possess. For you know not the price one’s soul paid to obtain what we perceive as “achievement”. As we humble ourselves and find gratitude in blessing we have received, the Most High will find great pleasure in our contentment, patience and humility. Thy will shall be done because the universe will see to it that our prayers are answered beyond our own contentment.

Have a blessed day!
